History and Profile:
In 2000, Sherina set out to the US to pursue her degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University, New Brunswick in New Jersey. She then transferred to SUNY Buffalo to join the esteemed Jacob School of Management where she won an award for outstanding skills in Marketing and Finance.
In 2003, Sherina was given special “government clearance” on her Indian passport to work for Terrorism Research Center, a non-profit outfit funded by US govt. grants.
In 2004, Mr. Kapany completed a 2-year full-time internship with a government-sponsored Non-Profit organization in Washington D.C. and Virginia, where she won an award for her thesis on Marketing Strategies for Non-Profits,Sherina was invited to join the Strategy Consulting arm of the Big 4.
In 2005, her love and passion for all things Media, Entertainment and Transformation, led her to Los Angeles in 2005 where she served at Warner Bros, Disney Studios, Universal, Sony Entertainment to name a few.
In 2007, Sherina joined Amdocs, an Israeli firm worth $ US 6 Billion in revenue run by ex-Big 4 exclusive alumni club. As a part of their pilot program, Sherina was sent as an expat and SME to Melbourne, Australia to start a new line of business i.e. Amdocs Consulting Division – Asia Pacific. Her work generated more than $US 20 million in revenue wherein she developed business in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and India.
In 2008, 2009 and 2010, Sherina started consulting to “A+” grade fortune 1000 clients such as Applied Materials, Levi Strauss, Estee Lauder, AIG where she built “Centers of Excellence” for her clients to create lean, profitable and high-performance teams.
In 2010 and 2011, Sherina came on board as a Practice Director with The Adecco Group (Ajilon Solutions) to build a Project Management practice where she created solutions for her clients and brought in CIOs, CEOs, VPs, SMEs and high-end professionals as a part of the human capital solutions her division provides.
In 2011, Sherina exceeded expectations by going to market 60 days ahead of schedule and achieving 3 significant wins amounting to $US 0.5 million each. In 2014, Sherina decided to start her own firm, sunSTRATEGIC, a Digital Marketing Agency and has been successfully running it till date.
Business Acumen and Professional Background:
Roles & Industries: Sherina has fulfilled the roles of a Subject Matter Expert and Consultant (Managerial & Executive roles) for programs in excess of $10million with on-and-offshore teams. She has won awards for her work within the human capital, technology and strategy space. She has served industries ranging from retail, media & entertainment and telecom giants and earned recognition from Big 5 consulting firms (US, EMEA & ASIA PAC).
The breadth of experience: P&L management, product portfolio development, quantitative/financial analysis, contract negotiation, vendor management, direct procurement, promotion implementation, compliance & support and leading cross-functional project teams in retail, telecom, media & entertainment giants as well as Big 5 consulting firms.
Retail expertise: Launching new products; creating strategic marketing plans and budgets; developing advertising and direct mail campaigns; conducting nationwide market research studies; reviewing/auditing marketing plans; implementing promotions; compiling artist training and development programs; and implementing technology solutions for the business.
Team Leadership: Proven ability to quickly understand the competitive situation and needs of the market, and then define and execute marketing strategies that increase growth and enhance profitability. Proven leadership experience in selecting, directing, monitoring, motivating, and evaluating the performance of management and line staffs.

- Sherina was presented “The Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Award in Marketing”, presented to one (undergraduate or MBA ) student who has performed in an outstanding manner in every dimension of the marketing practicum by Jacobs School of Management at State University of New York
- Sherina has won many awards in Elocution and Public Speaking from Trinity College of London.
- She is certified in Quality Management and was the youngest achiever (at 16 yrs of age) in the G-NIIT (National Institute of Information Tech, India) program.
- She received a Token of appreciation from VJTI for supporting and promoting the Startup Netcon, an event held to promote the entrepreneurship.
- She received award by Femina World Women Leadership Congress & Awards as a Woman Super Achiever For Excellence in Social Media.
